Environmental Litigation and Compliance
We represent clients with real estate, energy, air, water, toxic substances, and hazardous waste issues, ranging from compliance counseling to litigation. The Firm also performs environmental due diligence investigations. Our experience includes representing clients in solar energy, solid waste, recycling, renewable energy, an eco-developer, real estate developers, and numerous businesses and individuals confronted with environmental issues, among others.
Matters we have handled on behalf of clients include:
- Legal services for entitlement and environmental issues related to property acquisition and project development;
- The investigation of water related issues, including groundwater contamination;
- Successful negotiation with agencies at the federal, state and local levels on complex land use and regulatory matters;
- Consulting on environmental compliance issues;
- Phase 1 and Phase 2 assistance;
- General Counsel to an international conglomerate with interests in renewable energy, oil, and conservation;
- Due diligence for companies forming energy companies, including innovative oil projects in Texas, recycling projects in the Philippines and Hawaii, and the development of an eco-friendly resort in Joshua Tree, California;
- Air issues involving AQMD.
In addition, we have successfully negotiated with agencies at the federal, state and local levels on complex land use and regulatory matters. For example, we have worked with California Counties and Cities, the Environmental Protection Agency, the California Department of Toxic Substance Control, RWQCF, Regional Water Quality Management District, Air Quality Management District, the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, and the Department of Fish and Game, among others, to bring about successful resolution of issues on our clients’ behalf.
